JD 05: Ucayali - Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - 5D/4N

Itinerary: Wednesday to Sunday DAY 1 (WEDNESDAY): NAUTA – UCAYALI RIVER Reception and city tour of the historical sites from the rubber time in Iquitos. Transfer of 1 ½ hours by bus to Nauta where we board the “Jungle Discovery”. 4:00 PM Departure cruise. Orientation and accommodation. We navigate to the confluence of the rivers Marañon and Ucayali from the Amazon River begins. After the sunset we navigate the Ucayali River up to the Belluda Cano. Overnight on board. Dinner. DAY 2 (THURSDAY): BELLUDA CANO Dawn and dusk are ideal times for nature observation. Rainy Season (Dec – May) Belluda Stream exploration and dry season (Jun – Nov) Hiking at Belluda Cano. You are now in Pacaya Samiria national reserve, where you will have the chance to see its amazing wildlife: parrots, macaws and monkeys, such as the monk Saki monkey with its gray and black body, naked face and long shaggy tail. You can visit and explore two different kinds of ecosystems: flooded forest and terra firme forest. El Dorado River exploration, we will head for this spectacular spot within the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve. Enjoy a unique opportunity to swim among the dolphins. We continue our journey up the Ucayali River towards the Puinahua River. Overnight on board. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. DAY 3 (FRIDAY): PUINAHUA – BRETANA TOWN – PACAYA RIVER Today we explore the zone 1 in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. On walks and navigating in small canoes, our guides explain the amazing biodiversity of the Reserve. We start to navigate towards the Tapiche River. Overnight on board. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. DAY 4 (SATURDAY) TAPICHE RIVER Early morning we navigate by canoe on the Tapiche River for Birdwatching and observation of the pink and gray dolphins by changes as well monkeys. After breakfast we go sport fishing in the Aleman Gorge and later on we go walk in the primary forest, where the guides explain the flora and fauna of the area. Overnight on board. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. DAY 5 (SUNDAY): NAUTA – IQUITOS In the morning, we visit the Yanaquillo gorge to observe the huge aquatic water lilies. After arriving in Iquitos and transfer to the airport or hotel. Breakfast and lunch.
