Since june the 28th of 2006 Mision Orellana has been a confortable Flotel for up to 60 passenger, designed specially to navigate not to deep rivers. This modern cruise travels from the Ecuadorian Andes (YASUNI ITT) to the Amazon River and back
This tourism route is one of the most wanted for those who like adventure, nature and for they who understand that this is one of the most important re-discovered routes in this century.

Route: Coca (Ecuador) - Iquitos (Peru)
This is the same journey as that of Francisco de Orellana, the conquistador; 820 km through all the Napo River, beginning in Ecuador and sailing to the starting point of the Amazon River in Peru.
Day 01: FRANCISCO DE ORELLANA – PAÑACOCHA – AÑANGO
Passengers arrive to Coca’s Airport and transfer to “La Misión” Hotel where the boarding port is located. Here the expedition begins. We will take a speedboat to get to the Flotel at Pañacocha. There is a stop at Añango. A box lunch is included. Arrival time: 14h00.
Lunch at the Flotel, and depart to Nuevo Rocafuerte (14h00). Check-in, and in the afternoon, one of our representatives will welcome you and give you a brief of the tour program. He will also give you a tour itinerary. Arrival to Nuevo Rocafuerte (23h00)
DAY 02: NUEVO ROCAFUERTE – JATUNCOCHA (YASUNI ITT)
We will go up to Jatuncocha lagoon (black colored-water) by small boats. Then we will meet a native guide that will take us on a walk through the jungle to see the fauna and eco-system. We’ll enjoy approximately 80 bird species, like “hoatzins”, herons, fishing “martines”, toucans and more. After the walk we will fish for pirañas in the river. After the sunset, we will see “caimans,” which are Amazonian alligators. At night, we will have a buffet diner in the jungle and a Shamanic “Secoyan Indians” Ritual.
DAY 03 NUEVO ROCAFUERTE – BATELÓN (YASUNI ITT)
7h00. After breakfast, we will visit the Batelón lagoon, a place with a huge bio-diversity inside of the “Yasuni” National Reserve Park. We will enter this Park by small paddling boats to see birds and mammals during the daytime. In the afternoon, we’ll be able to see several monkey species, “Guacamayos”, wild parrots, pink dolphins and fresh water otters. We’ll also see some other species of mammals, reptiles bugs and exotic plants. By night, we will go to a place where several mammals and herbaceous go to eat salt. We will be able to see “tapires,” and “saginos,” which is a wild pig, among others.
DAY 04: NUEVO ROCAFUERTE – CABO PANTOJA – SANTA MARIA
Early in the morning, we will depart to Cabo Pantoja and Santa Maria where we’ll have a cultural exchange with the Secoya community.
We will visit a museum house, and a handy craft Amazon hammock shop, where we will also see how hammocks are made.
We will learn how to cook Casabe, a typical Secoyan meal based on yucca. In the afternoon, we will return to the Flotel.
In the afternoon, we will visit an artisan distillery where buffalos crush the sugarcane. We will also taste buffalo artisan cheese. Later, we will go to Lagartococha lagoon where we can swim and see the Amazon Quichua indigenous community.
DAY 05: SANTA MARIA – PUERTO ELVIRA
First, we will visit the Puerto Elvira community, where we will see the Aushiri lagoons. Then we continue sailing to Santa Clotilde to have lunch and to interact with their culture. By the afternoon, we will get back to the Flotel to keep sailing to Mazan.
DAY 06: SANTA CLOTILDE - MAZAN
7h00 Arrival to Mazan. After breakfast, we will go by motorcars to visit the community and to enjoy some tourism activities. 18h00: Departure to Iquitos City.
DAY 07: MAZAN – IQUITOS
Sailing day through Amazon River to Iquitos City.
DAY 08: ARRIVAL TO IQUITOS
Arrival to Iquitos City, downtown visit including museum and other activities. Transfer to the Airport.
