IMPORTANT NOTES

WHEN MAKING YOUR RESERVATION:
Please refer the following:

- Complete name of passenger, age and DNI or Passport number, nationality and language.
- Point of origin.
- Information of flights in/out.
- Telephone contact (cable) or e-mail.
- Selected program or code program.

Besides:
If your room is double, please indicate if you desire twin beds or wedding bed, special food and if you carry medicines that need to be refrigerated. Also if there are passengers of third age and passengers with any physical disability or disabled.

Confirmation of Reserve:

GUIDES:
All our guides are natives of the region. All the services will be given in regular services or pullman services with guides in spanish and/or english. In case other language is required please refer to the additional to be paid.

SERVICES:
The programs includes: in/out airport transportation, fluvial transportation, complete meals, lodging and excursions by road or by boat, supported permanently by guides, insurance against accidents in roads or rivers while the transportation lasts in our mobile units.

The programs do not include: international and national air tickets, airport taxes, health insurance and personal insurance trip; other additional as drinks and alcoholic beverages; tips for the guides, tips for the baggage carriers of airport in/out and personnel in general or crew in the case of cruisers.

The passengers that voluntary give up to some of the services included in the programs won’t receive reimbursements or adjustments to the total prices of the programs.

PAYMENT POLICY:  
For programs in Heliconia Amazon River Lodge, Zungarococha Bungalows and Expeditions to National Reserve Pacaya Samiria:

Single Passengers:
For single passengers total payment has to be completed 10 days before the program starts.

Groups:
For groups we ask for a prepayment of 50%, that has to be made 45 days before their arrival. They also have to send the rooming list. The 50% left has to be paid 30 days before the arrival of the group.

Policy of cruisers payments:

Singles and groups:

M/V El Arca:
Make a US$ 150.00 deposit per passenger on the next 10 days of reserve confirmation. Final payment has to be made 60 days before the departure of the boat.

M/V Río Amazonas:
Make a US$ 150.00 deposit per passenger on the next 10 days of reserve confirmation. Final payment has to be made 45 days before the departure of the boat. 

M/V El Delfin:
Make the deposit of the 50% (non reimbursable) 120 days before the departure date, if payment is not made the reservation will be cancelled. Final payment of 50% left has to be made 60 days before the departure of the boat. 
LUXURY CRUISE – M/V La Amatista, M/V La Esmeralda, M/V La Turmalina, M/V La Aquamarina and M/V La Turquesa. 
Make a US$ 200.00 deposit per passenger when confirming the reservation. Final payment has to be made 30 days before the departure of the boat.

CANCELATION POLICY - Lodges

Singles:
• 15 days before the passenger’s arrival: no cancellation cost.
• From 9 to 5 days before the passenger’s arrival: 30% for administrative costs will be charged.
• Less than 5 days: 100% for administrative expenses. No reimbursement.

Groups:
• 45 days before passengers’ arrival: no cancellation cost
• From 44 to 15 days before passengers’ arrival: 50% for administrative expenses will be charged.
• Less than 15 days: 100% for administrative expenses. No reimbursement.

 

CANCELLATIONS IN CRUISERS PROGRAMS: No reimbursements.

VARIATION IN ITINERARIES

- Because Amazon River Expeditions takes the necessary preventive measures, it will not assume responsibility or expenses due to damage, harm or loss caused by nature.
- Amazon River Expeditions reserves itself the right to modify or void any tour (if necessary) in protection of guests interests.
- The itinerary of our programs in Lodges and Cruisers may vary depending of the weather, the season of the year that regulates the level of rivers and wild life cycles, with the purpose of protecting their natural habitat. The itineraries may also vary due to changes in local flight schedules.
- If due to health problems, the guest decides not to sleep or not to follow the program in any of the Lodges offered in this brochure, the following has to be considered:                                                    
- If he/she comes from Heliconia Amazon River Lodge or Zungarococha Bungalows , we will give lodging and meals in Victoria Regia Hotel 3 or in Hotel Acosta, without additional payment only if it is on the time of program duration. Do not include city tours.
- If the guest comes from any other Lodge, he/she will be given lodging in any chosen hotel paying the additional that corresponds to lodging and meals.                                                        
- In the case of Cruisers, emergency transportation from the Boat to the city will be assumed by the guest or the insurance hired.

WHAT TO BRING, WHAT TO TAKE?
When making a trip to the jungle, a slight luggage with indispensable issues is recommended, moreover if it is a short visit. If you wish to store your luggage and take only the most important, we have a deposit to keep it without additional cost.
In the case of cruisers on the Amazon River all the luggage is taken to the boat.
What to bring, what to wear?
- Rain clothes (impermeable).
- A flashlight.
- An extra set of batteries.
- A good pair of binoculars.
- A good insect repeller with 35% DEET.
- Sun lotion.
- Water in bottles.
- Cotton clothes, pants and long sleeve shirt.
- Several pairs of socks and t-shirts.
- Rubber boots or walking tennis shoes resistant to humidity.
- Bathing suit.
- A sweater (sometimes the temperature goes down considerably when it rains or during the trips by boat).
