Zungarococha Bungalows
Open only in rising river level season:
From December thru July

Zungarococha Bungalows are located in the shore of one the most beautiful lakes of Iquitos, it is formed by one tributary of Rio Nanay, very near of National Reserve Allpahuayo Mishana.

The distance from Iquitos to Zungarococha is 15 kms, 20 minutes by bus and around 25 minutes going in Pacamari boat. In order to arrive in Zungarocoha in rising river level season you will go through narrow channels until you arrive to the lake that is shared with the local town.

The dark and crystalline caramel color cold water of Zungarococha is ideal for swimming and sailing in canoe for long hours. It has the name of one of the biggest fish of the jungle, the great bagre, which is locally called zungaro, much appreciated because of it delicious meat.

Operated by Amazon River Expeditions, it is recognized by the US National Wildlife Federation due to accomplishing the necessary requirements of Backyard Wildlife Awards.
