Reception at the airport or at your hotel in the morning (as soon as possible) and transfer to the M/F Selva Viva. Depart of the cruise sailing down the Amazon river. Lunch will be served on the sundeck where you will be amazed by the beautiful landscapes. Arrival in the afternoon at Quebrada Tamshyacu. Excursion with auxiliary boat for a first contact with the tropical jungle. Dinner and night on board, in a wild site.
Breakfast on board while the cruise will continue sailing on the Amazon river to the Hueyci community. Jungle hike to visit 3 villages and observe the canopy from the hill. The inhabitants will show us their habits according to the season. Lunch on board while we sail to Yanayacu de Yacapana. Fishing session at sunset. Dinner and night on board.
Early in the morning, we will explore the lagoons around the village for bird watching. Breakfast on board during the navigation to the small Yarapa river, famous for its black water. In Jaldar, jungle hike with a local guide who will explain the forest natural resources management by the inhabitants, and particularly the medicinal plants use. You will appreciate the unbelievable biodiversity of the area. Dinner and night on board in this wild site.
Breakfast on board while we sail to San Jose into the Pacaya Samiria’s Reserve. We will observe the giant waterlillies and prehistorical bird species. Then we will come back on board and sail to the Marañon and Ucayali’s confluence, the exact place where the Amazon River borns. Lunch on board and stop to Nauta where we will visit the Sapi Sapi park: observation of caimans, turtles and giant Arapaimas (the biggest fresh water fish in the world). Dinner and night on board, in a wild site.
Early exploration of Nauta Caño, famous place for bird watching and sport fishing. Back on board for breakfast while we sail to the Pucate river where we will observe the pink and grey Amazonian dolphins. Lunch on board. On the afternoon we will visit Veinte de enero and his local fruit’s oil fabric. Piranhas fishing on a lagoon. Back to the boat. Possibility to swim in the black water river and to do a night trek with a ranger. Dinner and night on board.
Breakfast on board. The boat navigates on the Marañon river until the Amazon. Lunch on board and stop by the community of Samaria. Possibility to do a 3 hours jungle trek to Tapira Chico. Visit of the village and excursion on the small river of Tapira where it’s possible to swim and go fishing. Dinner and night on board, near the village.
Breakfast on board and continuation of the cruise to Iquitos. Stop by the village of Tamshiyacu where you will discover a typical Amazon market and then, stop to visit a little handcrafted factory of the Amazonian traditional wooden boats. Arrival in Iquitos around 3 PM. Transfer to the airport or to your hotel.
