This 3-night Aqua Nera Explorer Cruise manages to fit major highlights of the Peruvian Amazon and the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve in an action-packed itinerary. Go piranha fishing, trek into the dense jungle with our experienced guides in search of wildlife such as Amazon monkeys, three-toed sloths, hoatzins, toucans, macaws and unravel the mystery of giant water lilies. Journeys focus on the Ucayali tributary, where wildlife feeding and nesting grounds are aplenty.
You’ll have the opportunity to view taricaya turtles and spectacled caimans in their natural habitat, along with Amazon’s famous pink river dolphins whose love of frolicking in the river will delight the young and old. You’ll also have enough time to find your favourite spot on the spacious five-star Aqua Nera, where you’ll sample a wide range of Amazonian produce from chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino’s inventive and delicious on-board menu.

Day 1 Saturday:
IQUITOS / NAUTA / EMBARKATION / MARAÑON RIVER
After arriving on a noon flight*, receive a warm welcome at Iquitos International Airport by our crew. Board a private transfer to our exclusive Nauta Lounge for a welcome lunch before embarkation. Settle into your generously sized suite as you begin one of life’s greatest adventures. Following an introduction from our naturalist guides and a routine safety drill, gather at the restaurant for the first of many Amazonian cuisine experiences created by Aqua Nera's renowned consulting chef, Pedro Miguel Schiaffino.- Recommended Flights: LATAM*

Day 2 Sunday
AMAZON RIVER / TAHUAYO RIVER
Head out at sunrise for a birdwatching session along the Marañon River. After breakfast, embark on a skiff excursion from the Amazon River to one of its tributaries, Tahuayo. Learn about the region from our expert naturalist guides and go fishing for Amazonia’s notorious piranhas. Day 3 Monday
CLAVERO LAKE / UCAYALI RIVER
Discover the magnificent black waters of Clavero Lake and pay a visit to the communities which live on its banks. Go kayaking, canoeing, or swimming before returning onboard for a sumptuous lunch. In the afternoon, head out for a short jungle walk in San Jose de Paranapura forest, where you’ll be able to see the famous giant water lilies. Before dinner, meet the incredible crew who’ve been working behind the scenes to ensure your exceptional experience aboard Aqua Nera.- Inclusions: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 Tuesday
NAUTA TOWN / MANATEE RESCUE CENTER / TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT
In the morning, take a guided visit to the local market and marvel at the regional produce of the Peruvian Amazon, and sample exotic snacks if you wish. Return to the Aqua Nera for breakfast and to pack up. Before saying goodbye, we will visit the Manatee Rescue Center, a sanctuary for orphaned Amazonian manatees to rehabilitate before their release back into the wild.- Inclusions: Breakfast
