Aqua Expedition’s 4 night luxury river cruise on the Aria Amazon begins in the remote colonial city of Iquitos(IQT), Peru and transport guests in exceptional comfort deep into the Amazon rainforest, along the Ucayali River, the Amazon’s largest tributary, as well as the four other rivers, each one rich in vibrant wildlife with thriving rainforests. Go piranha fishing, trek into the dense jungle in search of Amazon monkeys, three-toed sloths, crown headed hoatzin birds, toucans, macaws and giant water lilies.
Come back to the comfort of our skiffs to cruise up close to view Taricaya turtles and spectacled caimans in their natural habitat while pink dolphins, at play, challenge your photography skills. As the Aria Amazon journeys towards the confluence of the Ucayali and the Marañon Rivers, considered the birthplace of the Amazon, learn from our experienced, English speaking naturalist guides about the diverse Amazon wildlife and birds of Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve.

Once you are on board, your naturalist will inform you of all the additional activities we will offer during your journey. Bird watching at break of dawn, slide show of endemic wildlife in the afternoon, discovering fruits from the rain forest you probably have never seen before.

Day 1 Monday:
Iquitos – Nauta – Embarkation – Marañon River
We will meet at Iquitos International Airport then enjoy lunch either at a local restaurant or en route to the ship. The afternoon continues with an introduction to the historic city of Iquitos and the opportunity to meet an indigenous Amazon community. In the evening, we will board Aria Amazon. Settle into your generously sized suite as you begin one of life’s greatest adventures. Following an introduction from our naturalist guides and a routine safety drill, gather at the restaurant for the first of many Amazonian cuisine experiences created by Aria Amazon’s renowned consulting chef, Pedro Miguel Schiaffino.- Inclusion: Lunch. Day 2 Tuesday
Ucayali River – Puinahua River – Pacaya River
Start the day with an early-morning birdwatching session along the majestic Amazon River. Next, cruise along the Ucayali River while farmers and fishermen go about their day-to-day business. Search for pink river dolphins in these pristine waters. Later in the day, ride along the black waters of Pacaya River in search of nocturnal wildlife. End the night under the incredible stars of the Peruvian Amazon.- Inclusion: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 Wednesady
Pacaya River – Ucayali River
The rewards of our early start today are plentiful, including a full day excursion along the Pacaya River, going deeper into the pristine habitats to spot great egrets, capuchin monkeys and taricaya turtles. After lunch, enjoy a paiche fishing demonstration. Later, venture out by skiff on the Ucayali River keeping an eye out for pink river dolphins.- Inclusion: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 Thursday:
Clavero Lake – Village Visit
Choose to go jungle walking, canoeing, kayaking or swimming on the black water Yarapa or Clavero River in the morning. Come afternoon, visit an Amazonian village and interact with the natives. Before dinner, meet the Aria Amazon crew who have been working behind the scenes to ensure an exceptional onboard experience.- Inclusion: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 Friday:
Arrival in Nauta – Manatee Rescue Centre – Transfer to Airport
In the morning, take a guided visit to the local market and marvel at the regional produce of the Peruvian Amazon, and sample exotic snacks if you wish. Return to the Aria Amazon for breakfast before disembarkation. En route to the airport, visit the Manatee Rescue Center, where orphaned Amazonian manatees rehabilitate before they are released back into the wild.- Inclusion: Breakfast
